The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) have proposed recommendations to responsibly share data generated by interventional clinical trials on their website, which is now open for public consultation.
According to ICMJE participants put themselves at risk when they participate in interventional clinical trials and it is an ethical obligation to share data in a responsible formation. ICJME emphasize that there are many positive reasons to share data such as increasing confidence in the clinical trial process, independent confirmation of the data, advancing science by avoiding unwarranted repetition, in addition to being a moral obligation towards its participants and patients.
